When I try to read or write to a floppy disk, Windows 95 freezes up and I have to reboot. In Device Manager, Floppy Disk Controller, Properties I am told that the 'device is working properly'. Have you any suggestions?
This shouldn't happen under Windows 95 or any of its successors. Try starting Windows in Safe Mode and see if you can access the floppy drive then. If so, it suggests that the problem is caused by a software conflict, perhaps with an antivirus program or other utility.
